If occupancy is approaching maximum capacity and the “red zone”, Security personnel will be controlling traffic at the north and south mall entrances, limiting entry into the mall on a one out, one in system. In addition, retailers with exterior entrances will begin capacity management at this time.
Shopping centre capacity is calculated using social distancing guidelines and new occupancy restrictions put into effect by the Government of Alberta.

How often are you updating this information?
Southcentre Mall management receives live updates on how many guests are in the mall via our traffic counting system.
How will capacity levels be communicated? What happens if the area has reached max capacity or is in the red zone?
Centre capacity will be posted on the Southcentre website to allow guests to plan their visit and determine the best time to shop. We recommend guests shop on their own during off-peak hours.
Security staff will be circulating throughout the centre as we closely monitor the flow of customers in various corridors and at all entrances in anticipation of closing doors and zones as we reach capacity.
Should we approach maximum capacity, Security will close mall entrances and begin limiting entry into the mall on a one-out, one-in basis.
How do stores manage capacity? Are you able to provide capacity for every store?
The maximum capacity of each store will be posted on the store front. Each store will manage their own lines ups.
